This project is the fourth phase for the Extend Runway 6 project. This project involves construction of the pavement for the 929-foot runway extension, partial parallel taxiway, and associated connector taxiways. The project also includes installing MIRLs along the Runway, installing new MITLs along the parallel taxiway and connector taxiways, installing a new PAPI, installing new REILs, installing a new localizer, installing new wind cones, and minor vault upgrades.

Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the total amount bid. A Contract Performance Bond and a Contract Payment Bond each equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price will be required for the successful Contractor. No bid may be withdrawn prior to October 15, 2022. Proposals shall be placed in a sealed envelope addressed to the Virginia Highlands Airport Authority, 18521 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Virginia 24210, and labeled in lower left-hand corner: Extend Runway 6 – Phase 4 (Paving & Lighting)
